A man and woman who were injured in a drive-by shooting in Pittsburg on Monday night are in stable condition today, police said.
The shooting happened at about 10:40 p.m. as the victims, a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were walking in the 1900 block of Heatherwood Drive, Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman said.
Police said the victims, both Pittsburg residents, were headed to a home a few blocks away when someone drove up in a car and fired at them.
The woman was hit in the lower back and the man was shot in the right arm, Raman said. Both were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.
Police are investigating the possibility that the victims had been involved in an altercation earlier in the night that may have led to the shooting, Raman said.
The car used in the shooting is described as red or maroon in color.
