A Menlo Park man arrested during a traffic stop in Belmont on Thursday night was allegedly found with stolen property that may be linked to multiple burglaries, a Belmont police captain said.

Police stopped at Toyota Camry for a minor traffic violation in the 800 block of Ralston Avenue at about 11 a.m., Capt. Patrick Halleran said.

The driver, Pedro Mendoza, 18, was allegedly found with jewelry and other property including electronics in the car, he said.

The items may be connected to recent residential burglaries through multiple Peninsula cities, Halleran said.

Mendoza was arrested without incident on charges of possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of marijuana while driving and driving without a license.
