An 18-year-old man was arrested for alleged drunken driving after a two-car crash in South San Francisco on Thursday morning, police said.

Paul Cormican of South San Francisco was driving eastbound in the 1200 block of Hillside Boulevard around 7:10 a.m. when he lost control of his car, drove into a raised center divide and struck head-on into another vehicle heading west, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported for serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Cormican was booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury.

He is being held on $50,000 bail.
