Three men who attempted to burglarize an El Cerrito home twice in two weeks were arrested on Wednesday, police said.
Officers responded to a burglary in the 6700 block of Schmidt Lane around 10:40 a.m., police said.
The resident told officers that the three men had rung her doorbell a week before but when she didn’t answer they went into her backyard and unsuccessfully tried to enter through a rear door before they fled, police said.
Then on Wednesday officers located and arrested the suspects at the scene identified by the resident as the same three men from the attempted burglary a week earlier, according to police.
One of the three men was wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection to a 2012 residential burglary also in El Cerrito, police said.
The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Patrick Phanh, 25-year-old Jamy Xaysana and 19-year-old Kao Saelee, all residents of Oakland booked into county jail in Martinez.
