Petaluma police are asking the public for help identifying a suspect who stole a phone from an AT&T store on Thursday afternoon and may have committed other similar thefts recently. The burglary occurred at the AT&T store at 301 S. McDowell Blvd. at about 4:40 p.m., police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with red hair and some facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black Oakland A’s hat with a silver sticker on the bill, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue pants and black shoes, according to police. The man removed a new phone from a security cable in the store and fled.

He matches the description of a suspect being sought in four similar thefts in the city, police said.
