Police at San Jose State University were warning students to be on alert after two women on campus were groped by a suspect on a bicycle on Saturday night. The first incident occurred outside the Event and Recreation center at about 6:55 p.m., according to the campus police department. A suspect, who was described as a white man with a moustache between 20 and 30 years old, rode up on a bicycle and grabbed a woman in an inappropriate fashion, police said.
A second sexual battery was reported on Eighth Street near the Hoover Hall dormitory at about 9:20 p.m., police said. A suspect with the same description grabbed a second victim inappropriately and was last seen riding a bicycle toward the Campus Village Apartments, police said. He was seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The two women were not injured, police said. Students were being warned to avoid walking alone at night, keep to well-lit areas and immediately report suspicious activity to university police.
