Police in Pleasanton are searching for a man who fired several shots in a pub early this morning, wounding one patron. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired in the Redcoats Pub and Restaurant at 336 Mary St. at about 1 a.m., according to Pleasanton police. Arriving officers were told that a suspect described as a Hispanic man in his 20s had fled the scene. Witnesses said the suspect had been pacing inside the restaurant, when he pulled out a silver handgun and fire several shots into the ceiling of the main bar area, police said.
Most of the bullets struck the ceiling, but one bullet struck a restaurant patron in the buttocks, police said. The victim was apparently unaware he had been wounded until his friend noticed him bleeding, police said. He was taken to a hospital to be treated. The suspect was described as standing around 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. He was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
