Convicted child killer Edward Salas who escaped from a New Mexico prison and was captured in Mexico more than a year ago has been extradited back to the United States.
Salas is the last outstanding inmate to have escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Center in August 2008.
He was due to be transferred to a New Mexico state prison to serve his sentence for the Murder of 10 year old Carlos Perez, when he escaped with seven other inmates.
On September 15th, 2005, Salas and an accomplice Noe Torres shot Carlos Perez nine times as he was sleeping in his bed.
Salas fled to Mexico where he became an assassin for the ruthless drug cartel Los Zetas.
