A suspect remains at large after robbing a bank in downtown San Leandro Thursday morning, police said. Officers responded to a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Bank of the West located at 1601 Washington Ave. around 9:20 a.m., police said.
An investigation revealed that a suspect passed a note demanding money. He then received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene, according to police. The suspect is described as a male, possibly Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build. He was last wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
