A San Leandro woman who allegedly attempted to rent a car with a stolen driver’s license and credit card was arrested Tuesday at San Francisco International Airport, a San Mateo County sheriff’s deputy said. San Francisco police officers were dispatched to a rental car facility at SFO around 12:15 a.m., San Mateo County sheriff’s Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said. They arrested Chantal Falcon, 51, who allegedly attempted to rent a car with a fraudulent credit card under another name, Rosenblatt said.

Officers also learned that the license Falcon allegedly showed to the car rental company was reported stolen during an auto burglary in Oakland on Halloween when the victim was at a concert, she said. Falcon told officers her true identity and police found she was wanted on a $10,000 arrest warrant, according to Rosenblatt.

An investigation by San Mateo County sheriff’s detectives and San Francisco police revealed Falcon allegedly rented a vehicle from the Oakland International Airport on Monday night using the same fraudulent driver’s license and credit card, Rosenblatt said. Falcon was booked into San Mateo County Jail on burglary, identity theft, auto theft and other fraud charges, according to Rosenblatt. Her bail was set at $200,000.
