Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect who fatally struck a pedestrian in Pacifica Tuesday evening. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in the first block of Palmetto Avenue at about 7:40 p.m., police said. Police said the reporting party informed dispatch that the vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene.
When officers arrived, a man around 50 years old was found in the roadway. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect vehicle is only described as gray or dark colored, possibly a Monte Carlo, Charger or similar type car. It was last seen heading north on Palmetto Avenue, police said.
