On Saturday, January 11, 2014, Ross Pake, 53, San Juan Capistrano, was arrested following a large law enforcement response to a party at his home in the 31000 block of Peppertree Bend, San Juan Capistrano. Pake was arrested for Obstructing/Delaying an Officer and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, both misdemeanor offenses.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department were called to Pake’s residence for a reported loud party. Deputies made contact with Pake who agreed to turn his music down. At approximately 11:20 p.m., deputies responded a second time after receiving a 911 call from a party goer who reported numerous disturbances at the party. As deputies arrived, they encountered 100+ young adults and juveniles yelling obscenities at deputies and throwing bottles at Sheriff’s vehicles. Calls for assistance by deputies resulted in a response of approximately thirty (30) additional Sheriff’s Department units.
During the response, Pake was detained by deputies and taken into custody. Following dispersal of party goers, eleven (11) juveniles were detained at the scene, some of who had been drinking alcohol. All juveniles were released to responsible adults.
Investigators are in the process of reviewing video in an attempt to identify any additional suspects or crimes that may have occurred.
