Andrew Daniel Rodriguez Arrested In Humboldt County For November Murder In San Jose

Police have arrested a suspect in the November shooting death of 20-year-old Pedro Meza Hernandez in San Jose.

The suspect, 20-year-old Andrew Daniel Rodriguez, of Hayward, was taken into custody on Friday in Humboldt County with the assistance of Fortuna police, San Jose police said.

He was arrested on an outstanding murder warrant and booked into Humboldt County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Santa Clara County.

Hernandez was less than two weeks away from his 21st birthday when he was gunned down at about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the 1600 block of West San Carlos Street. He died at a hospital later that night.

Police said at the time that they believed the shooting was gang-related. Hernandez’s death marked San Jose’s 41st homicide of 2013.
