The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a 19-year-old man who was found fatally shot at a home in southwestern Santa Rosa on Thursday as Eduardo Ramos Caballero.

Caballero had been shot in the head, and his death is being investigated as a homicide, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Dave Linscomb said.

An autopsy was scheduled for today. A coroner’s office spokeswoman said Caballero has no known address.

The shooting was reported at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 1200 block of Marble Street. Two teens, ages 16 and 17, who were at the home when police arrived were interviewed and then released.

Caballero is known to have ties to the Norteno street gang, but investigators have not determined whether the shooting was gang-related, Linscomb said. No arrests have been made in the case.

The death was Santa Rosa’s third homicide since Dec. 24.
