Two boys have escaped from the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Facility in Contra Costa County, sheriff’s officials said this morning. A telephone alert went out to residents around 10:30 a.m. about a search for the two inmates, who left the juvenile detention center, also known as the Byron Boys’ Ranch, at 4491 Bixler Road in Byron.

The two boys are both wearing blue sweatshirts. One is wearing tan pants, and the other is wearing blue pants, sheriff’s officials said. Investigators believe the boys are likely on foot and could be hiding in the area.
