Police in Redwood City arrested a man shortly after he allegedly robbed a bank Friday morning. Officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1900 Broadway at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, police said. The suspect, 55-year old Boulder Creek resident Douglas Taylor, reportedly entered the bank and presented a note to a bank employee demanding money, according to police.

Police said the employee alerted another employee of the robbery while retrieving cash for the suspect and that employee called 911. The reporting party maintained contact with Redwood City police and provided continual updates, a description of the suspect and the area the suspect was exiting the bank, police said.

When the suspect exited the bank, police quickly nabbed him and took him into custody without further incident. All the money taken from the bank was recovered, police said. The suspect was not armed during the robbery. No one was injured in the incident. Taylor was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
