Police in Union City are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a suspect wanted for a robbery Wednesday night. Officers responded to a report of a robbery that just occurred in the 3200 block of Santa Susana Way at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. The victims, a male, female and 2-year-old child, parked in front of a house and were heading inside when the suspect approached them, pointed a gun at them and demanded valuables, according to police.
The male victim attempted to give cash to the suspect, who then fired a shot at him, police said. The female and child fled to the backyard for safety and the suspect followed, demanding valuables, according to police. Police said the suspect then fired another shot in the direction of the female and her child.
The suspect then fled with the victims’ property. No one was hurt in the incident, police said. Police said the suspect was last seen running north on Dyer Street. He is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old who is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
