A male gang member wanted on a $1.2 million arrest warrant for domestic violence was arrested and a female gang member was cited for drug paraphernalia possession Wednesday in Salinas, police said.
At 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Salinas Police Department’s violence suppression unit approached Pedro Velasco, 23, and Aresdelsy Narez, 19, at a parking lot at 545 E. Alisal St., police said.
Officers recognized Velasco as the suspect wanted for three outstanding arrest warrants, one carrying $1.2 million bail for domestic violence, another $90,000 in a vehicle pursuit allegation and one for a no-bail parole hold, police said.
Velasco was booked into Monterey County Jail while Narez was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Velasco and Narez are known gang members, according to police.
