Cesar Viorato and Gabriela Vargas arrested in Watsonville with alleged stolen property

Police in Watsonville arrested a man and a woman who are on probation in Monterey County after finding stolen property in their car during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday. Officers pulled over a car in the area of Beck and Beach streets around 3:10 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

The officers contacted the two subjects who are on probation in Monterey County, 37-year-old Cesar Viorato and 36-year-old Gabriela Vargas, both of Watsonville, and subsequently searched the car, according to police.

During the search, officers found stolen property that was linked to a robbery that occurred on Monday at the Bella Salon and Spa, located at 801 E. Lake Ave., police said. Viorato and Vargas were arrested for possession of the stolen property. Police continue to investigate the connection between the two cases.
