Gilroy police are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred in a Union Bank this afternoon. The suspect walked into the bank at 8000 Santa Teresa Blvd. at 3:49 p.m. and presented a teller a note demanding money, according to Sgt. Goeff Guerin. The suspect, who never displayed a weapon, fled on foot with the money before police arrived. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect, Guerin said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white male in his mid 20s, wearing a black baseball hat with no logo, a black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes, police said.
