Investigators are trying to identify a masked suspect who robbed patrons at a beauty salon in Watsonville on Monday evening, police said. At about 6:15 p.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to the Bella Salon and Spa at 801 E. Lake Ave. near Tuttle Avenue after receiving a report of a robbery there, police said. The officers arrived and discovered that the suspect had entered the salon and demanded money from several employees and patrons.
Police said the suspect took two purses belonging to patrons. The loss included cash and personal property. No one was injured in the robbery. The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray sweater and a mask, according to police. Officers searched the area extensively but did not find him.
