A Washington state man has been arrested in Sonoma County on suspicion of attempted murder and felony domestic battery after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, sheriff’s officials said. At about 10:15 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report that the victim of a domestic violence incident that had occurred in Forestville was at the Santa Rosa Police Department, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim told investigators that her boyfriend had choked her several times and threatened her with a hatchet the previous day, on Sunday evening, according to sheriff’s officials. The victim was taken to a hospital to be examined. Deputies eventually found the boyfriend, 20-year-old Shawn Morgan, at his work and took him into custody without incident. Morgan, a resident of Lake Stevens, Wash., was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
