Pleasanton police are looking for more information on two similar small business robberies that happened less than a week apart. Officers responded to a robbery at a UPS Store on Pimlico Drive noon Monday. The man handed her a demand note to a sales clerk who complied with the request, according to police. The man fled through the front door and was last seen going east on Brockton Drive, police said. The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 45 years old, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. He was seen wearing what looked like an Oakland Raiders beanie cap, blue jeans and possibly a black leather jacket. The man wore black gloves, sunglasses and may have had a reddish-blonde beard. Monday’s robbery is similar to a robbery on Dec. 17 at Behind the Door Beauty Boutique on Hopyard Avenue, police said.
In that robbery, the suspect also handed a demand note to an employee and left with cash, fleeing into the parking lot, according to police. The suspect in that case was seen wandering outside of the store for 10 minutes before going inside, police said. The suspect is described as a white male adult, around 30 to 40 years old, about 6 feet tall with a large muscular build and clean-shaven face. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up leather jacket, black-and-white striped knit beanie possibly associated with the Oakland Raiders and light faded blue jeans. The suspect also wore dark black sunglasses, black leather jacket and gloves. No one was hurt or injured in either case, according to police. Anyone with information that would assist in the investigation is encouraged to call the Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5100.
