Police in Richmond are attempting to locate suspects involved in a shooting Friday night that left a teenage girl seriously injured. The teen was inside her home in the 3800 block of Waller Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday when gunshots broke out on the street. One of the bullets went through a wall and struck her in the elbow and back, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

The teen was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for serious injuries. An update on her condition was not immediately available today. No other injuries were reported in connection with the shots fired. Abetkov said officers in the area responded after hearing the gunshots and receiving alerts from the city’s ShotSpotter activation system, but no suspects were located.
