Wanted by the US Marshals Service and the California Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Team for Parole Violations and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
Timothy Hanley, AKA, Planet Mchanic, was convicted of crimes against children in Santa Cruz, CA in 1981 and again in Siskiyou County, CA in 1991. Hanley is required to register as a sex offender and has previous convictions of failing to register. Hanley is currently out of compliance with his registration and is wanted for violation of his parole in California.
Hanley is a Vietnam veteran and allegedly bragged to one of his ex-wives that he has molested over twenty children since returning from Vietnam, including a young relative. Hanley has legally changed his name to Planet Mchanic, and is thought to frequent the Burning Man festival in California.
Hanley is also believed to be an avid kite maker and kite flier and maybe involved in a kite association or club. Hanley was last seen when he was released from prison in 2008 and failed to report to his parole agent or to properly register as a sex offender. Hanley is frequently homeless and maybe living in his vehicle. He has few skills but has claimed to be an electrician.
Hanley has past contacts in Santa Cruz, Shasta County, and Humboldt County in California, but maybe anywhere, including British Columbia.
The US Marshals Behavioral Analysis Unit believes Hanley is a serious concern to reoffend while absconding and is a serious safety concern for any child that he may be in contact with.
Hanley is considered to be one of the US Marshals Most Wanted in Northern California.
