Watsonville police are searching for a suspect in a robbery that occurred Friday evening. Police said officers were called to Lomeli Communications at 302 E. Lake Ave. around 6:45 p.m. by a hold-up alarm. Employees told them a suspect had entered the business and demanded money from the cash register.

After the employee complied, the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading east on East Lake Avenue. Officers searched the area but could not locate him. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, around 6 feet tall with a heavy build, police said. He was wearing a black ski mask with eyes cut out, a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and gloves.
