Investigators arrested a man from Maine on Monday in connection with bank robberies in Arcata and Santa Rosa, police said. Stephen Long, 63, of Windham, Maine, was arrested in Arcata for a bank robbery there. The FBI alerted Santa Rosa police that the suspect in custody may also be the person who robbed the Montgomery Village Bank of America branch in Santa Rosa on Nov. 27. In that robbery, a man entered the branch, located at 2420 Sonoma Ave., at about 4:45 p.m., handed a teller a note demanding money and then fled with cash. No weapon was seen, police said. About eight customers were in the bank at the time and no one was injured, according to police.
