A man who police say may be connected to a string of bank robberies throughout Marin County remains at large after robbing a bank in Novato this morning. Officers were dispatched around 9:05 a.m. to the Chase Bank at 1595 Grant Ave. after being notified of a robbery there. An investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the bank, demanded money and fled on foot with cash, according to police.
A search of the neighborhood came up empty, police said. The suspect was unarmed and no one was hurt in the incident, according to police. The description of the suspect is similar to that of a man who has robbed numerous other banks in Marin County. He is described as a white man between 40 and 50 years old, standing between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and unshaven face. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket and black pants.
