A 20-year-old Manteca man was arrested earlier this week in connection with a September murder at the Contra Costa County fairgrounds, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Jamontee Mahari Jones was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of killing 31-year-old Amber Abangan, of Oakland, and injuring two men on Sept. 8. The triple shooting was reported early that morning at the Paradise Skate Roller Rink at the fairgrounds located at 1201 W. 10th St. in unincorporated Antioch.

According to authorities, a fight broke out at the “Adult Late Night Skate Jam” that led to the shooting. Following the shooting, Abangan was taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch where she died. The two men that were also hit by gunfire were treated for injuries not considered life-threatening at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and released. Jones was booked into Martinez Detention Center and is being held on $5.05 million bail, according to the sheriff’s office.
