A masked gunman shot a man early today as he stood outside a house on Orchard Street drinking beer with friends, according to police. The victim, a 25-year-old male, was standing outside 128 Orchard at 12:30 a.m. with two friends when he was approached by a lone gunman wearing a black ski mask over his face, according to police. The suspect fired nine rounds at the group, striking the victim twice in the upper back, police said.

The bullets both went through the victim and into the house. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said. No one else in the group was injured. Neither the victim or anyone else in the group had obvious gang affiliations, police said.
