Oakland man killed in shooting early this morning

One man was killed and another wounded in separate shootings that occurred half an hour apart in East Oakland on Monday morning, police said. The first shooting was reported at 10:57 a.m. when a man was shot and wounded in the 10800 block of Packard Street, according to police. Thirty minutes later, at 11:27 a.m., a shooting was reported in the 2600 block of East 16th Street, police said. That victim was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police have not yet released further details on either shooting.
