Two men were arrested today on suspicion of homicide for a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District last weekend, police said. Giovanni Figueroa, 25, of Antioch, and Demetrius Puckett, 21, of East Palo Alto, were arrested in connection with the killing of 32-year-old Waynenard Aitemon Jr., according to police. Aitemon was shot shortly before 2:20 a.m. last Sunday near 16th and Mission streets.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later, police said. Along with the homicide arrest, police said Figueroa was also arrested on suspicion of a weapons violation. Police are continuing to seek more information about the shooting.
