A 43-year-old man died three days after he was struck by a car that fled the scene in San Jose last weekend, police said today. Joel Holguin Jr., of San Jose, was hit by the car on Sunday around 1:15 a.m. near Capitol Expressway and Senter Road, police said. The driver fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large today. Holguin, who had been walking in the area, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Tuesday around 6 p.m., police said.

Police believe the vehicle involved in the crash will have a broken front window and front-end damage. This marks the city’s 33rd traffic fatality this year.
