A female suspect fired shots at a girl on a bicycle from a vehicle in Salinas on Tuesday afternoon, police said. According to police, the juvenile female was riding her bicycle westbound in the 800 block of East Laurel Drive shortly after 1 p.m. when a 90s model bluish gray four-door Honda drove up alongside her. A female passenger in the right side rear seat of the vehicle rolled down the rear window and fired two shots at the victim from a handgun, according to police.
The victim, who claimed no gang affiliation, was not struck by the gunfire, police said. The suspect was described as a light skin Hispanic female between 17 and 20 years old, police said. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
