Two San Francisco residents were arrested Wednesday afternoon after police spotted them allegedly fleeing from a burglarized car in Daly City, police said. Terrell Mackey, 18, and Eric Jones, 20, were arrested after a car burglary was reported around 3 p.m. in the area of Mission Street and Citrus Avenue, police said.
Responding officers saw the pair drive away with Mackey in the driver’s seat and the two allegedly refused to stop for police and hit another car at Mission Street and John Daly Boulevard, police said. The pair then got out of the car and fled on foot. Officers were able to capture them a few minutes later, police said. Allegedly the stolen items from the car — two backpacks — were found in the suspects’ car, police said.
Two people were injured in the crash and both were transported to hospitals for injuries not considered life-threatening. One of the suspects also went to the hospital for complaint of pain, police said. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, auto burglary and resisting arrest. Mackey was also charged with evading police and felony hit-and-run.
