A Concord resident was injured in a shooting at his home late Thursday night a short time after a man suffered a head injury in a fight less than a mile away, according to police. Police said around 11:55 p.m., someone apparently shot into a home in the 1400 block of Darlene Drive, striking a male resident. Emergency responders found the victim inside the residence and transported him to a hospital with a gunshot wound that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.

Police said the shooting came after officers responded to a report of a man down on Robin Lane. Officers determined that someone hit the man’s head against the ground in a fight. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for a head injury. Police say the two incidents are unrelated, and no further information was immediately available this morning.
