Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood this July, a police spokesman said today. Leonard Colvin, 41, of San Francisco, was arrested Monday for the murder of 39-year-old Emmett Byron, Officer Gordon Shyy said. Colvin is believed to have shot Byron in the 200 block of Turk Street, near Leavenworth Street, at about 11:40 p.m. on July 20, according to police.

Byron was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries about a month later, on Aug. 19, police said. Although an arrest has now been made in the slaying, police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
