A man was arrested today after a four-hour standoff with a Sonoma County Sheriff’s SWAT team in unincorporated Santa Rosa after he reportedly fired a gun and threatened to kill his cousin, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies were dispatched a short time after 1 a.m. to a home in the 4000 block of Taylor Avenue after a caller reported that his cousin, who was high on drugs and alcohol, was firing an unknown firearm and had threatened to kill him, sheriff’s officials said. Fearing for his life, the caller took cover inside a trailer parked on the property. When deputies arrived on the scene, they spotted the suspect running into a house on the property, according ot the sheriff’s office. The victim was safely removed from the area, and deputies made repeated announcements to the suspect inside the home, who did not respond. The sheriff’s office SWAT team was called to the scene, and repeatedly attempted to make contact with the suspect. After four hours, the suspect surrendered, sheriff’s officials said.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Lloyd Fouche of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats and felony vandalism, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken to county jail, where his bail was set at $20,000.
