Deputies arrested two women who were spotted in a stolen car in Greenbrae this morning, a Marin County sheriff’s sergeant said. Around 6:10 a.m., a resident in the Greenbrae Hills neighborhood saw a suspicious vehicle and followed it until he lost sight of it, sheriff’s Sgt. Nina Snyder said.

Deputies responded and found the vehicle unoccupied and searched the Greenbrae area for the occupants, Snyder said. The car had been reported stolen out of San Rafael, she said. Two women, both of Santa Rosa, were found with burglary tools and taken into custody on suspicion of car theft and other stolen property charges, Snyder said.

One of the women also had two warrants out for her arrest from Sonoma County, she said. During the search for the suspects, an emergency notification went out via phone to residents urging them to stay in place while authorities combed through the neighborhood, Snyder said.
