Lawrence Foster Marin City man was arrested in Novato after a K-9 alerted an officer of drugs on traffic stop

A Marin City man was arrested in Novato after a K-9 alerted an officer of drugs inside a car during a traffic enforcement stop Saturday night, police said. Lawrence Foster, 53, was pulled over at about 10:15 p.m. while on Nave Drive in Novato, police said. During the stop, a K-9 alerted an officer to the smell of narcotics.

A subsequent search found a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine, according to police. Foster, who is on active Marin City probation, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance and probation violation.
