A man who was shot and killed in North Richmond on Thursday night has been identified as 30-year-old Rylando Matlock, according to a Contra Costa County coroner’s deputy. Matlock suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting reported at 9:38 p.m. near Opal Court in unincorporated North Richmond.

The North Richmond resident was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he died from his injuries around 3:15 a.m., authorities said. Deputies canvassing the area determined that the shooting happened in the first block of Silver Avenue but were unable to locate any suspects, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said. Lee said no suspects have been identified and investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting.
