A driver near the border of San Leandro and Oakland fled from police and crashed into an Oakland liquor store Sunday night, a San Leandro police lieutenant said. San Leandro police attempted to stop a vehicle near 105th and Edes avenues in Oakland around 11:15 p.m. for a traffic violation, Lt. Randall Brandt said.

The car drove off speeding and police chased it, he said. The driver collided into another vehicle a few blocks away at 98th and Edes avenues before crashing into a corner liquor store, he said. Brookfield Discount Liquor is listed at that intersection. Someone in a car that the suspect struck was injured and taken to the hospital, Brandt said. The police vehicle was not involved in the collision, and no officers were hurt, he said.
