Police in Pleasanton are trying to track down a male who robbed a 7-11 store early this morning. The suspect entered the 7-11 at 4305 Valley Ave. around 1:45 a.m. through the front door when the lone employee stepped back into the beverage cold room, police said. The suspect tried to lock the employee into the room before climbing over the counter and forcing open the cash register, police said. As the suspect was taking cash out of the register, the employee stepped out of the back room and approached him. The suspect fled the store on foot and ran west on Valley Avenue. No weapon was seen during the robbery. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 220 pounds. He was wearing a black mask and gloves, a white T-shirt, tan shorts and white athletic shoes, according to police. Anyone with information on this suspect or incident is asked to call Pleasanton police.
