East Palo Alto Police Seeking Public’s Assistance Solving January Murder

New information in the investigation of a January murder has prompted East Palo Alto police to ask the public for help in the case. Police have not said what the new information is, but are asking anyone with information on the Jan. 26 killing of 21-year-old Lamont Coleman to come forward Coleman, an East Palo Alto resident, was gunned down at about 9 p.m. that Saturday night in the 2200 block of Capitol Avenue. When officers arrived in response to a ShotSpotter activation, they found Coleman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The East Palo Alto Police Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the murder jointly. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call San Mateo County Sheriff’s Detective Andy Armando at (650) 363-4347.
