The San Jose Police Department’s bomb squad has determined that a suspicious package found in downtown San Jose today had nothing dangerous inside, a police spokesman said. As of 4:28 p.m., police reopened a two-block area in each direction on Market and Santa Clara streets that were closed off as a precaution after the package was found, police Officer Albert Morales said. No threatening messages had been left with the package, Morales said. San Jose police responded at 11:39 a.m. this morning after a construction worker reported discovering the package, Morales said.
