A Windsor man arrested Thursday night on suspicion of burglary could be linked to a number of recent daytime burglaries, deputies said. Stephen Dotson, 31, was arrested after a resident positively identified him as the suspect in a burglary on Dizzy Gillespie Way that had taken place around 4 p.m. Thursday, according to Sonoma County sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Naugle. Dotson’s description matches that of other recent daytime burglaries that have occurred in the northeast section of town, according to Naugle.
Deputies had already identified a possible suspect in connection with those burglaries based on evidence left at the scene. A search of Dotson’s home located items stolen in the burglary that occurred Thursday and also other possible stolen items. Dotson was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and possession of stolen property, and booked into Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. Additional charges are likely to be added to the case as the investigation continues, Naugle said.
