Police arrested a man in connection with an in-progress home invasion robbery and shooting early this morning in Suisun City. At about 1 a.m., police received a frantic call from a resident on Keyes Lane, near Potrero Circle, reporting that a burglary suspect had entered a residence and shot a man. The caller said the suspect was still inside the home, police said. Suisun City police officers responded to the residence and located the suspect in front of the home. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Juan C. Walker, of Suisun City, was taken into custody.

Walker’s firearm was recovered and he was arrested for attempted murder, police said. The victim was located in the master bedroom of the residence with a single gunshot wound to his shoulder, police said. Police rendered first aid to the victim until medics arrived.

The victim was then transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery. According to the police investigation, Walker had been trying to steal a car and randomly picked the victim’s home. He broke into the home and confronted the victim and his wife in their bedroom. Walker was booked into Solano County Jail, police said. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is urged to contact police at (707) 421-7373.
