Oakland police today identified five people who have been killed in their city in the past six weeks. Police said 23-year-old Nathaniel Brown of San Leandro was the man who was fatally shot at Club Anton at 428 Third St. in Jack London Square at about 1:20 a.m. on Saturday.

The man who was fatally shot in the 2000 block of 99th Avenue about 1:25 p.m. on Aug. 22 was identified by police as 18-year-old Jose Moreno-Garcia of Oakland. Police said Pablo Armenta was one of two men who were fatally shot in the 500 block of 105th Avenue at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 16 but they aren’t releasing the name of the other man at this time.

Two other people were injured in the shooting but survived. The woman who was killed in a shooting around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 in the 800 block of 100th Avenue was identified by police as Olivia Muteba. The man who was fatally shot in the 1500 block of 80th Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. on July 23 was identified as 19-year-old Norman Lewis of Oakland. Another man, 43-year-old Ahmad Belton, who lived in the area, was fatally shot in the same block eight days later, at about 11:45 p.m. on July 31.
