A teenager suspected of stabbing his pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend in Antioch last week has been taken into custody, Antioch police said this morning. Johnny Madden, 18, was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. Friday after a brief foot chase in the 2900 block of Delta Fair Boulevard, in the area of the Delta Fair Shopping Center, according to police.

He has been booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. Madden is suspected of attacking his girlfriend in the 2200 block of Hamlin Drive at about 10:30 a.m. last Wednesday, police said.

The girlfriend called police to report that her boyfriend had stabbed her. She suffered cuts to her left leg and abdomen and was treated at a hospital, police said.
