Police in Palo Alto are searching for two suspects who robbed a man at gunpoint in a residential neighborhood on Monday night. Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery involving a pedestrian in the 100 block of Bryant Street at 10:05 p.m., according to Palo Alto police.
A man in his 20s had been walking on a sidewalk when he heard someone behind him, police said. The victim turned around and saw two suspects, one of them holding a handgun. One of the suspects told him to lie on the ground, and the victim complied. The men stole his wallet, a bag containing a laptop, and other items from the victim’s pockets, police said.
The suspects fled on foot on Poe Street, and a jogger who witnessed the crime called 911. The victim was not injured. One of the suspects was described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s, standing around 6 feet tall and weighing between 175 and 200 pounds. He was clean-shaven and wore a dark hoodie, police said. The second suspect was described as a male.
